The cooks were themselves getting BBQed in the heat! Evangeline for being a good secretary, calling people up, chasing for money and worrying about things for me. Pearly and Michelle for doing the games, and allowing us to dunk them into the pool. Wu ShernAisalli and Dean did a splendid job at selling tickets, otherwise no way we could have reached 73 tickets sold.Adrian for walking up and down his house to transport stuff from the store into his car (and I figure the same too to put things back), and for contributing RM100 by showing us where Louis Armstrong had gone before. The Siao sisters for jaga-ing the reception and so cham they had to tah-pau food to the counter. Shirleen and William for preparing stuff and setting up the venue. Shirleen for not throwing the table at me after I updated her with new stuff to do. AidaChung MingAlanSamEdmundVinee , Emily , Aisalli's sisters Jun & Jan and so many others who became walk-in helpers, cooking, setting up, cleaning up etc. Those who pinjam barang2 so that we could save cost, like Yew Weng for plates and utensils, Intan & Ly Mun for the Coleman, Amira & Adrian for the BBQ pit, Michelle and Pearly for more barang2. IntanLashEvangeline, and Adrian for sponsorship of gifts.

Basically, these guys are ppl that can be counted on to make things happen.

Anyway, wishing you guys a great final week of 2005, and an even better new year!

It started at 7.30am in the morning and we board a bus from KL Sentral to Genting Highlands. The main activity of that day was bringing the kids into the theme parks and let them enjoy themselves under the supervision from the volunteers of RIKL.

Manage to follow every of the time that is set for that day of the activity successfully despite some hitches. All the children was happy on that day and they wants another one in the future.

Turtle Conservation Dec

Joe Quah info@raleighinternational.org.my

Members:

Project Partner:WWF Malaysia

Brief:

Group Charlie went for the Turtle Conservation project last weekend and we really enjoyed ourseves. Its my first time since being coordinator for 4 IWs that I actually met up with the whole group (or almost whole group) again after IW. I thought that was cool. Usually people go their own ways after that.

9 people attended this project. We did lots of digging sand (80 cm deep) to bake the bottom layer sand, killing all microbes and bacteria. Also the sand needed to be sieved from rocks and rubbish like polistyrine and plastic straws. Some of our members even helped Min Min (the WWF scientist) with excavation of rotten eggs. The eggs were opened (imagine the smell!) to examine the development stage of the embryo inside. Most could not be identified, but some were halfway there. And, we went on a banana boat!
