Nomad Adventure Eco-X: Call for Marshals

Posted by Poh-E in

Raleigh KL members have the opportunity to be involved as volunteer marshals for the Nomad Adventure Eco-X races on 17th and 18th May 2008. Volunteers will have the opportunity to have a first hand experience in staffing for a professional adventure race event and be acquainted with Hulu Langat's natural attractions.

The volunteers should be willing to learn, jungle savvy with a bit of jungle awareness, not so blur (we have a test for that!), and self-initiated. Outdoor experience is useful though not necessary.
Newbies are encouraged to apply and will receive a briefing on basic preparation through Raleigh KL.

Volunteer marshals must be able to commit for the race and recee dates ie 17th & 18th May and marshal recce on 11th May.

The Eco-X races are supported by Raleigh KL as part of exposing members to adventure race events. To apply as a volunteer marshal through Raleigh KL, contact Ming Kit at 0162210743 or mingkit.tan[at]gmail[dot]com.

Volunteer marshals will receive complimentary meals, accommodation and allowance during the race event.

The Eco-X is a series of adventure races organised by Nomad Adventure Sdn Bhd. Each race is characterised by its difficulty and target participants with an average of 3 - 4 races being held every year.

This year's Eco-X Sprint and Eco-X Capade are 5-8 hour individual and team-based races involving trail running, canyoning, in line skating, jungle trekking, rope work, bamboo rafting and mystery tests at the scenic Hulu Langat trail. Both events are signature events of Visit Malaysia Year with support from the Selangor Tourism Action Council.
