Raleigh’s Alpha Team IW December 2010 PIWP is finally here! So come and support us!

For those who have done mud hut before, see the equation below:
Not enough mud bricks = No mud hut
So what does that mean?
Well, it means that your help would be really AWESOME since we can get more mud bricks done. Thus, less time to get the mud hut itself built =D

1-DAY MUDHUT COMMUNITY PROJECT

Date: 27th February 2011 ( Sunday)
Time: 7.30am - 6.30pm
Meeting point: Gombak LRT Station (Putra LRT)
...Location: Kampung Cottage, 55th mile Gombak (heading towards the Orang Asli Museum)
*depart from LRT to mudhut site at 8am*
Aim: To build mudhuts for a Community Sustainability Learning Center and organic farm.

Target: 30 mudbricks

Target Group: Raleigh-ians & Public (Limited to overall 50 people only)

Registration Fees:
Paid Raleigh members: RM 7
Non-members: RM10
*Fee includes lunch and fuel costs. Extras will be donated.

Type of work for volunteers:
- Collect MUD!
- Organize the mud brick mixing area
- Build brick moulds
- Make mud bricks

Items to wear and/or bring:
- long pants
- long sleeves
- shoes (you can bring along slippers/sandals to change after the event)
- caps/hats
- cotton work gloves

*Please do not wear fancy clothes/shoes because you are DEFINITELY going to get dirty. Don’t say that you’ve not been warned.

Optional items to bring:
- EXTRA CLOTHES ('coz you will be guarateed to get dirty!)
- 2 x 1.5litre drinking water (or more)
- Snacks
- Cutleries and a container for lunch (paper plates, fork, spoon. No polystyrene please)
- Personal mini first-aid kit
- Small towel (for you to use during the refreshing session at the river/waterfall)

Itinerary:
7.30 a.m. – Meet at Terminal Putra (Gombak) LRT Station
8.00 a.m. – Depart from LRT station and head to mud hut site
8.30 a.m. – Start collecting mud and making mud bricks
*1.00 p.m. – Lunch Break
2.00 p.m. – Head to the River/ Waterfall nearby to refresh, relax & have fun
6.30 p.m. – Depart

*Time subject to change depending on the number of mud bricks made by 1pm

Share your happiness by giving ice-cream to those underprivileged children, orphans from House of Joy to put a smile on their faces!!!

House of Joy visitation on 20 Feb (Sunday) 1pm-4pm (Please kindly note the time change)

All participants will need to gather at Petaling Komuter Station by 1PM sharp n we'll travel to House of Joy together.
(House of Joy is located in puchong which is 4km away from the KTM station)
