Post AGM Trip - A heaven of nature and food

Hey Raleighians,

Have you registered for the upcoming AGM already? Here’s a little heads up for the Post AGM Trip! This time around we are going to Kuala Selangor, a popular destination for firefly watching, mangrove exploration and seafood delights. We will be staying in the chalets at Kuala Selangor Nature Park (KSNP), also known as Taman Alam, is a good place to explore and experience the wildlife, flora and fauna, and the mangrove forest.

A nature walk into the heart of the mangrove forest
Delicious dinner at Riverview Seafood restaurant (Halal)
Firefly watching

AGM - Early nomination for Committee 2011/12

Surprise or not?

Yes, this year we will have an early nomination for the next term committee, which indicates that potential candidates are able to self-nominate before the actual AGM! This is to ensure that Raleigh members are able to gauge where their votes should go to.


Who is eligible?

Those who is eligible to be elected into the committee must fulfill one of the below criteria:

(1) Have participated in Raleigh International expeditions or formerly Operation Raleigh expeditions
(2) Have played a significant role in the organization/management of a Raleigh KL project, and have been subjected to recommendation from the present Committee.


How do I nominate myself?

To nominate yourself, please contact Chung Sin at +6012-509 0120


How do I know who has been nominated?

The nominees list will be published on http://raleighklagm2011.blogspot.com/ and they will be required to write something about themselves (I am not kidding!).


Can I still nominate someone during AGM?

Yes. We will still need to do a renomination during AGM due to formality, therefore you can add in your nomination by then.

What about us who are not eligible?

More about AGM 2011/12

Who can vote?
To vote, members must fulfill two criteria:
1) have been to an Introduction Weekend and/or Expedition
2) subscribed as members for the new term i.e. paid membership fees for 2011/12*
* You can register as a member for the new term during the AGM by completing a membership application form together with RM60 for first year membership (inclusive of a limited edition Raleigh KL polo T shirt) or RM20 for subsequent year renewal.
(Members will receive preferential rates and pre-registration privilege during Raleigh KL activities and discounts at selected outdoor and camping gear stores such as Lafuma Outdoor Pro Shop. Members also have lower fundraising targets for expedition.)
