JUMBLESALE cum FUNDRAISING - Time for Year End Trash!

Posted by Poh-E in

Dear Raleigh-ians and friends,

In the quest for my next phase of life - Raleigh International Expedition Sabah this coming Feb 2007, I am organising an jumble-sale cum fund-raising effort at Plaza Mont Kiara ABC Flee Market on the Sunday, 7th Jan 07 from 8.00 - 4.00pm.

Thanks to my food sponsor, I have some muffins and cheesecake (mmmmm....) to sell, in addition to that I will be selling some finger food i.e sausage, nuggets and fish /sotong balls as well as fried mee-hoon.

Apart from the FOOOOD sale, I intend to sell good 2nd hand items. I am looking for several hand-down items which I think most of you have in your storeroom, backyard, living room or even your own room .
1. Electrical appliances i.e iron, table lamp, blender, alarm clock, etc
2. Kitchen ware i.e plate, punchbowl, hangers, cookie jar, etc
3. Sports items i.e tennis/badminton/squash racquet, swimming goggles, etc
4. Others i.e photoframes, accessories, perfumes, bedding items, toiletries (unused of course!), souvenirs etc

I am NOT collecting toys, clothes, books because based on personal experience, it can only be sold at RM1-RM5 at the most and this would end up as junks to me after the sale (if unsold).

Please call/text me if you would like me to pick the junks up anytime from TUESDAY, 2nd JANUARY onwards. And if you have any contacts for company or friends who can donate/sponsor me items/food for my jumble sale, please kindly direct them to contact me personally @ VINEE Mobile : 013 210 3392

And of course, if you guys are free and would like to try some of my bee-hoon and fingerfood on the very Sunday 7th Jan, please do drive your wheels to Plaza Mont Kiara.
PS: Good place to 'cuci mata' oso (this applies to guys and girls as well!)

So guys... remember YOUR JUNK is MY ASSET!

Job Well Done

Posted by Poh-E in

The recent regional conference was a success on a whole, so as an outsider observer I'd just like to congratulate the Conference and Marketing team and all who worked tirelessly with literally sleepless nights. I don't really know all the names and roles of those involved but special mention for Christal, Xin Tong, and the committee for overall organising, Amy for taking care of the venue and food *slurp!*, Pooi San for hosting the delegates and the KL night tour, James for erm well erm..., William for some legendary deadpan chairing, the energizer girls May Leng and Pearly. To quote James (yes, believe it), we will only see the fruits of your labour for this conference in the future.

ZooRiffic 3!!! Dec

Zoorific Sessions II

Project NameZooRiffic 3 !!! Save Our Tigers, Give Them a Future
Date:

2 Dec 06 - 8am till 5pm

Venue:Zoo Negara, Hulu Kelang
Project Leaders:

Paul Henry & Joyce

Project Partner:Malaysian Zoological Society (Education Department)
MYCAT (Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers)
MNS (Malaysian Nature Society)
Precious Children Home, PJ
Brief:

Zooriffic derives from a combination of two different words (zoo + the suffix of ‘terrific’)

Why “Save Our Tigers?” because this event is held in collaboration with MYCAT, an NGO that focuses in tiger conservation. Unlike the previous two zooriffics, among the highlights of Zooriffic 3 were ;
coloring contest for kids, a day’s trip for orphans in the zoo, talks conducted by MYCAT and MNS, photography session by magazine journalists, a birthday cake cutting session for orphans. It is an environmental and community project which deals with nature, wildlife in the zoo, as well as conservation awareness.

The purpose:

to encourage youth in appreciating nature and their surrounding in a fun and enjoyable way. Not only will they learn about conservation through the talks given, they too will understand that animals need people through our “animal specialist”! No wonder Noah was told to save those animals from the great flood. Imagine the earth without such creatures, won’t it look something like Mars- a boring place…

Sponsored Items:
1. Andante Training Resources
- Birthday Cake
- Prizes for Kid’s coloring contest
- Button Badges, Souvenirs, zoo entrance fee
2. Jubilee Discovery Centre
- Goodie bag
- Goodie bag items
3. Roskopf Patent International & Vitacare
- Goodie bag item
4. Anonymous (refer to Kumar)
- Banner
5. 2nd hand color pencils and stationary items donated by various individual
6. Zoo entrance fee for RIKL & MYCAT observers and organizers- compliments by zoo

We would like to thank the kind participation of
Zoo Negara Director – Dr. Mohamad Bin Ngah
Dr. Kae Kawanishi – MYCAT research biologist
Zoo Negara Senior Veterinary – Dr. Vellayan
Ms Loretta Ann Soosayraj - MYCAT and
Ms Kanita Krishnasamy - MNS
