The members who attended the 2006 AGM

Calling all members to attend the 10th Annual General Meeting. This is your chance to elect those you feel have the drive, commitment and passion to lead Raleigh International KL for the 2007/2008 term.

For those who are interested to hold office (only those who have been on RI Programmes (Expeditions) or by recommendation by the Committee as stipulated in the Constitution), this is your chance to get those votes in!

As for newcomers, this is a great opportunity to mingle with members (some of whom have been with the organisation for years!!). What better way to find out about who we are & what we do than from the horse's mouth? :)

Vote for the next leaders of the organisation

Make sure you're free on 27th May 2007 (Saturday), 8.00 p.m @ the International Youth Centre, Cheras (please refer http://www.iyckul.org.my/contact.html for map)

The outgoing Committee of 2006/07

All your votes count!

See you there!

PR & You Talk-We're back!!

Posted by Poh-E in

Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur presents a talk on PR exclusively for its members. The talk will include the fundamental aspects of PR.

The talk is directed to all of you who will be seeking sponsorship for expedition or a Raleigh project in Malaysia.

Here is a chance for you to find out what goes on in the mind of a potential sponsor. The idea of looking for a sponsor is a challenging one; to some it can even be daunting. Why do some sponsorship proposals work and others don't?

This is your chance to give yourself the edge when seeking sponsorship. Lashvinder Kaur, the head of WestCoast Communications will attempt to lift the shroud over sponsorship and sponsors.

This talk is open to Raleigh folk only. It is a pre-requisite that you have participated on a Raleigh International Introduction Weekend. We recommend potential venturers/participants on upcoming Raleigh programmes (expeditions) to attend this talk. You must RSVP by 31st May 2007.

Details of the talk are as follow:
Date: 3rd June 2007, Sunday
Time: 10.30 a.m - 12.00 a.m
Venue: International Youth Centre,
Jalan Yaacob Latiff, Bandar Tun Razak,
56000 Cheras.

(please refer http://www.iyckul.org.my/contact.html for map)

Below is a list of some of the questions that we will attempt to answer.
-What is a sponsorship?
-Why are you asking for one?
-Which companies will be likely to sponsor and why?
-Are only companies likely to sponsor? Who else can I ask for funding?
-What is a sponsor looking for?
-What do you need to have prior to approaching sponsors?
-Understanding WHY a company chooses to sponsor
-What do sponsors usually want out of sponsorship?
-Honouring the sponsorship agreement
-Servicing the sponsor just after the project
-Maintaining a rapport (for the individual as well as for Raleigh KL)
