INTRODUCTION
Basic First Aid aims to give a more comprehensive coverage on the understanding and practical guidance as well as the theoretical aspects of first aid to the Volunteers and the public based on the concept of prevention .It is important that individuals know Basic First Aid and CPR to become a certified First Aide to use the knowledge in giving assistance, saving the lives of victims and disseminate the knowledge to the community.

Members of Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur will be able to benefit from this course as qualifiers from this course will be able to give first aid treatment during outings or during Introduction Weekend camps.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
It will help the community to gain access to First Aid knowledge and health care and also be knowledgeable in the workings of the human body and are able to take better care of it.

Qualifiers will also be able to identify the causes of minor illness and ways to treat them.
The course also aims to create a caring society which is willing to help fellowmen in times of needs.

COURSE STRUCTURE
Scope of First Aid - 1 hour
Structure of The Body - 1 hour
Circulatory System - 1 hour
Respiratory system - 1 hour
Asphyxia - 1 hour
Shock - 1 hour
Wounds & Bleeding - 2 hours
Fractures / Dislocation / Sport Injuries - 2 hours
Dressing & Bandages - 2 hours
Burns & Scald - 1 hour
Poisons & poisoning (industrial Accident) - 1 hour
Fainting & Unconsciousness - 1 hour
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - 3 hours
Lifting and Transportation - 2 hours

EVENT DETAILS
Date: 5, 6 & 7 November 2011 (Saturday, Sunday & Monday*)
*Monday is a public holiday
Time: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Venue: 35b, Jalan Tun Abdul Aziz Bandar Kajang (Air-conditioned Tuition Centre)

Fees:
Early Bird (9 - 18 October 2011)
Members: RM150
Non-members: RM170

Normal Period (19 - 31 October 2011)
Members: RM160
Non-members: RM180

Medium of Instruction: English

1st Day: 10 hours
2nd Day: 10 hours
3rd Day (examination Day): 6 hours

*Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a certificate which will be valid for 3 years.

*Fees include a First Aid Handbook, Triangular Bandage, Qualified First Aider Certificate (Upon completion and passing of exam) and 3 meals of lunch.

Fellow participants who opt for the provided accommodation will be staying in our very own Raleigh member’s new house. The house is located just 10 minutes away from the Kajang KTM station and near to the venue of the first aid course.

Itinerary:
8:00am - Meet up at KTM station. Registration.
8:30am - Depart from KTM station to training location
9:00am - Class start
12:30pm - Lunch (meal is provided)
01:30pm - Continue the class
06:00pm - Class finish, free and easy (please note that dinner is not provided for those who opt to stay at the provided accommodation)
