Blind up to KL Tower

Posted by Poh-E in

Dear Raleighians,

Do you wish to be part of an activity filled to the brim with adventure yet at the same time presents a great service to mother nature and the community? Some of you may quote the lack of time or other reasons as to why you cannot participate, but let us tell you this: YOU CAN BE PART OF THIS ACTIVITY.

WHAT

I, Hooi Chin Gian and my friend, Cheong Zhi Yong and Chong Jia Loon are going to embark on two expeditions in the quest for adventure, service to mother nature and the community alike. I will be trekking up Gunung Tahan, reputed as the toughest mountain to climb in Malaysia from 20 to 26 March 2008. Zhi Yong and Jia Loon, on the other hand, will join in a three month expedition into the heart of the Sabah rainforests.

HOW

On 3 February 2008, the Kuala Lumpur Tower Forest Towerthon will be taking place in Malaysia's one and only Kuala Lumpur Tower. Participants will run up approximately one kilometer uphill before climbing 2,058 steps to reach Tower Head 3 at 288 meter above ground level. We will be participating in this event as all others, albeit for one small detail - we will do it blindfolded. This is a feat that has never been done before, and it is all for the cause of raising funds for our expedition expenses.

We kindly ask of your support in this event and subsequently in our expeditions. We would deeply appreciate if you could contribute RM 20 or more towards our effort. No other words can be expressed for your generous act but THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Should you wish to contribute by cash, please contact me at 017-3574833, Zhi Yong at 012-3080661 or Jia Loon at 017-8813001. If you would like to write a cheque or transfer funds through the bank, please designate it to:

Beneficiary Name : Pertubuhan Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur
Name of Beneficiary Bank : RHB Bank Berhad
Branch : KLCC
Account Number : 21413800026536

If you do have any queries, do contact us through the number stated above or through our emails: hooichingian[at]hotmail.com, zyjonathan[at]hotmail.com, a0shark[at]hotmail.com.

Once, again, we express our deepest gratitude on the behalf of mother nature and the local community in Sabah for your taking time to read through this and for your contributions in any ways.

Thank you.

With love and gratitude,
Chin Gian
