Reporting live from KK. Thank you Shu Woan!

After a year of absence, here I am once again, reporting live from KK.

Upon our arrival at Likas stadium, there were no HCVs in sight. But through a glass door, we saw CK working very hard with the logs team. He has been up since half past five for two days in a row, and he looks like he needs some rest.

Seeing that the staff was busy, this reporter immediately sought reinforcement from KL. The lucky HCV – Evinn Soo. She still had a phone with her and although she was busy packing and repacking, she spared some of her time with this reporter.

Out of 14 HCVs, only 3 were available. Evinn, Fiza and Sherman. Choon Wei was briefly available, and I had the impression that he was really tired.

Apparently, before the KL HCVs left KL, they were ‘instructed’ to learn how to sing ‘Sayang Kinabalu’, and they did! Well done guys!

So, who goes where?

Evinn and Shen Quang will be spending 12 days getting toned in Long Pasia, and the next 5 days showing it off in Mamutik. Its trek and dive for them.

For Yen Wen, it’s the other way round. She’ll be getting her diving license first and then battling it out with the leeches later on.

Choon Wei has the honour of repairing the water gravity feed in the Lost World of Sabah – Maliau Basin. Fiza from Ranau will be joining him there.

Aaron is heading to Imbak Canyon alongside with Mun Mun.

Shi Han is going all the way to Pitas to build a kindergarten.

Finally, Sherman from Sabah will also be in Pitas, but working on a water project.

Yes, this reporter only managed to squeeze this much of information from the three of them.

On what will she be missing the most, Evinn says, her laptop! And I thought people usually say rice! She will also be missing her favourite pork dishes. She’s also telling time the Raleigh way – ‘fifteen past’. She just got back from jungle camp today, and was allocated to trek and dive. A bit overwhelming, not really looking forward to it. But after our little chit chat and some tips from Suzanne, she seems ready.

ll 3 of them looked like they were ready to continue packing at this point, with handshakes and best wishes, off they went.

This is Shu Woan, reporting from Likas stadium, Kota Kinabalu for Raleigh Kuala Lumpur. Stay tuned for more at changeover.
