Life

Lately, all I have been doing is reminisce about Expedition 03C Sabah. I'm in my final year at uni now & I must say that it is with great trepidation that I start the next phase of my life as my student days come to an end.

I miss my expedition. I can't believe that next year it'll be my fourth 'anniversary' since 03C. The working world is a crazy one & for that, I have this itch to just pack all my stuff & head off to another expedition upon graduation next June.

I miss the laid-back lifestyle. I miss the wonderful places I've been to, the people I've met & the experiences I've gained. I miss the waking up to the buzzing of those jungle insects. I miss enjoying the beautiful sunsets after a hard day's work. I miss singing whilst trekking. I miss dipping in the icy cold rivers of the Crocker Range. I miss the people. I miss rocking myself to sleep at night in a basha. I miss my hole-in-the-ground toilet. I miss not worrying about how I look or what people thought of me. I miss singing 'Jambatan Tamparuli' with the locals. I also miss singing 'Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes' with my fellow Venturers!

I miss a lot of things about expedition. Heck, i even miss porridge! However, I don't miss the leeches..... :)

*sigh.... Yes, I miss 03C......... I truly do.

  3. and I miss, talking in BM like an expert to the locals!! Running off and having minum makan with them secretly, playing football & volleyball after a day's work, laughing at my crying team mates who are cursing and swearing at the world for trekking under buckets of rain, beautiful beautiful sunrise and sunsets... Haha.. such joy and carefree days.
Damn.. now u r making me sad again.. I miss EXPEDITION!!

  4. Hey Evan,
I know how you feel!! It's a long time since my expedition days, and some of my mates have even settled down & started their own families! Despite the years, small things like walking thru my nearby park, with the fresh smell of early morning dew and wood from the trees already brings me automatically back to Sabah.

I guess we each carry our own memories of expedition through the passage of life.
